I finally ticked off route that’s been on my wishlist for years. Pleasure Dome, at Stennis Head in Pembrokeshire, is an E3 which weaves its way through some pretty imposing territory. The routes around it are all pretty hefty grades, and the line looks very unlikely. You can get a good look at the headwall from a neighbouring arete. I’ve been “having a look” on every visit to Pembroke for the last four years or so – every time it’s just looked too hard, or too scary.
Anyway, I finally manned up and got on with it. It was a bit spicy, but mainly because I climbed a bit too defensively. I might put a better write-up on here later, since this was one of the best trad experiences I’ve had in a long while.
